I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
