In a unexpected crossover event that breaks conventional predictions, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of banned rituals and fearsome changes resonate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret group.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar trials and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Extra Content
Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana together with multiple items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe

Third Free Story Update
This patch also brings the game's third no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe reveals a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
